Pretty as a picture: body perception in the socio-cultural context

As the Christmas time is gone again, and in the meantime we are thrilled to invite you all to the upcoming Cuddle January workshop Pretty as a picture: body perception in the socio-cultural context by Julia Grotnik. The event will take place in two dates and two languages: 11th January (Thursday) from 3 to 5 pm CET – in Polish 12th January (Friday) from 3 to 5 pm CET – in English

During the workshop we will discuss how the perception of our own body can affect both mental and physical health. We will consider what beauty actually is and whether it is worth striving for, as well as how we can move our attention to other aspects related to the body. Additionally, we will talk about how to assess your body weight in a healthy and realistic way. Each participant will have the opportunity to measure body weight and analyze body composition.

Julia Grotnik is a graduate of bachelor’s studies in Dietetics at the Medical University of Gdańsk. Currently, she is continuing her studies in the second year of Master studies in the same field. She is a member of the SSC Psychology and a head of the SSC Dietetics. She is interested in pediatric dietetics, psychodietetics, as well as public health and health education, so you can meet her at various pro-social events organized in Gdańsk. Privately, she loves dogs, traveling and photography.
