AMBER MUSEUM

Gdańsk deserves its title as the World Capital of Amber. For centuries, amber jewelry and everyday objects have been made here. At the modern, multimedia exhibition in the Grand Mill, everyone can rediscover the extraordinary history of amber. Among the thousands of exhibits are not only amber nuggets from around the world, along with plants and animals embedded within them, but also masterpieces by old masters and a collection of modern art.

ST. MARY’S CHURCH
Podkramarska 5 str, 80- 834 Gdańsk
This medieval church is the largest brick church in the world, and its interior is filled with magnificent monuments of sacred art. Its construction began in 1343 and was completed… 159 years later. The tower- 409 steps lead to the summit, rewarding the effort with a spectacular panorama of the Tricity area. In good weather, the Orłowo Cliff and the clearly defined Hel Peninsula are visible.
Free admission – daily, during church opening hours. Tours are not possible during services.
St. Mary’s Church
OBSERVATION DECK AT THE EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CENTRE
Solidarności square 1, 80-863 Gdańsk
Observation deck is situated on the ECS rooftop – 25 meters above the ground. The view from the deck covers the area of the former Gdańsk Lenin Shipyard, and the Old Town, as well as the Main City of Gdańsk. Construction of the European Solidarity Centre was completed in 2014 and since then, it has been attracting tourists from Poland and around the world.
You have to pay for admission to the exhibition but you can take the elevator to the 6th floor and admire the panoramic views of the shipyard, port, and historic Gdańsk from the observation deck.

MAIN TOWN HALL

The Main Town Hall is located at the intersection of Długa Street and Długi Targ. The building’s origins date back to the late Middle Ages. From the mid-14th century until 1921, it served as the seat of the city government. This Gothic-Renaissance building houses one of the most beautiful Renaissance halls in Northern Europe. In summer, from the top of the 80-meter-high tower, you can admire panoramic views of Gdańsk.

OLIWA PARK IN GDAŃSK

The origins of the park can be traced back to the turn of the XIIth and XIIIth centuries, when the Cistercian abbey in Oliwa was established. Unfortunately, there is little information about the appearance of the garden at that time, but the park owes its current shape to the last abbots of Oliwa.

GRADOWA HILL

It’s a popular tourist destination, admiring the panoramic view, which includes the shipyard and the historic monuments of the Main Town. The monument at its summit – the Millennium Cross – has become an integral part of the urban landscape.
The Hevelianum, located here, covers an area of over 20 hectares on Gradowa Hill. It is a fortified hill approximately 50 meters above sea level.
For most of the year, Gradowa Hill is immersed in greenery. The park and extensive lawns make it a favorite relaxation spot for many Gdańsk residents.

SECOND WORLD WAR MUSEUM

The heart of the Museum is the main exhibition, covering an area of over 6,000 square meters, making it one of the largest exhibitions presented by a history museum in the world. Located 14 meters underground, it tells the story of the tragic experience of World War II, its origins and consequences, its victims and perpetrators, its heroes and ordinary people. It is intended to remind us of a history lesson we must never forget.
Every Tuesday you can visit for free! Free tickets can be collected at the museum’s ticket office.
Second World War Museum
WESTERPLATTE MUSEUM
Sucharskiego, 80-601 Gdańsk
The Westerplatte Museum, a symbolic site of the outbreak of World War II, has an incredibly fascinating history. The peninsula’s area, as well as its intended use, has undergone numerous transformations over the years. The area served not only military purposes, most associated with the period of operation of the Military Transit Depot, but also recreational purposes.

Westerplatte
FORTRESS WISŁOUJŚCIE
Stara Twierdza 1, 80-855 Gdańsk
The Wisłoujście Fortress is the oldest seaside fortress on the Polish coast. In the modern period, it was called the Gateway to the Republic of Poland. This impressive fortification protected ships en route to the port of Gdańsk. It also served as a lighthouse, a mooring point for the Polish fleet, and a prison. In 1945, it was almost completely destroyed.
