Every year, before classes begin, the Welcome Point team helps our new English Division students find their feet, get to know the University, and prepare for student life in Gdańsk. And this year was no exception! 😊
✨ We kicked off the week with a warm welcome from Prof. Aleksandra Gaworska-Krzemińska, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, who welcomed our new students and set the perfect tone for the days ahead.
🧭 A new campus, a new city, lots of useful information! Throughout the week, students explored the university and hospital complex and attended presentations covering everything from residence permit procedures and library resources to sports activities and student services. We also put a special focus on safety and everyday life on campus – because knowing where to find help, how to stay safe, and who to turn to is just as important as knowing where your next lecture takes place! 😉
🏰 Gdańsk, here we come! Our students also joined a guided tour of the city, discovering its fascinating history, beautiful architecture, and unique atmosphere. After all, studying in Gdańsk is not just about lectures and exams – it’s also about discovering the city you’ll call home!
🇵🇱 Our students took their first steps in learning Polish, too. The sessions were full of energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. Who knows – maybe some future Polish-speaking pros are already among us!
🍔🔥 And, of course, Orientation Week wouldn’t be complete without a Welcome BBQ! The weather wasn’t exactly doing its best to make us feel welcome 🌦️, but that certainly didn’t stop anyone from having a fantastic time. Good food, great company, plenty of smiles, and lots of positive energy proved that a little rain can’t spoil a good party!
💙 The Welcome Point team would like to thank everyone who helped make this week such a success, especially our wonderful lecturers and upper-year students who shared their knowledge and experience with the newcomers.
To all our new students: welcome to GUMed! 🎉 We wish you an exciting, inspiring, and unforgettable academic journey. You’ve got this – and remember, your Welcome Point team is here to help! 🙌
