  10. We strongly recommend that the international students arrive earlier to take a voluntary self-quarantine for 10 days before coming to the campus (before the beginning of the academic year)* in order to minimise possible risks of virus transmission; students who attend to stay in University Dorms are asked to stay outside the university area during self-quarantine.

  11. Students of the Medical University of Gdańsk can be accommodated in the Student Dormitories located at Student Campus on the regular basis. However, due to the threat of the spread of SARS-CoV-2 we encourage students to rent a flat with separate bathroom and kitchen from the private real estate market. For those students who would like to rent apartment in the city please contact Accommodation For Students www.e-afs.com, E-mail: contact@e-afs.com

  12. If students decide to buy a plane ticket, it is highly recommended to purchase a refundable option and travel insurance, which will cover cancellations due to COVID-19.

  14. For students who require a student visa: some Polish embassies and consulates might limit or suspend processing of visas due to the spread of SARS-CoV-2, hence the duration of the visa issue process could take longer than usual – we strongly recommend to apply for visa well in advance. It should be emphasised that the issuing of a visa depends on the documented grounds for continuing education (secondary school certificate and confirmation that it entitles to university education). Only after submitting such a document, it will it be possible to issue an admission certificate, which is the basis for applying for a visa.

  15. After accepting the candidate, the MUG Admissions Office issues documents confirming the admission necessary to apply for a visa. Also, at the request of the Embassy/Consulate, the MUG Admissions Office confirms the authenticity of the above documents. Scheduling the date of obtaining the visa, as well as keeping track of the whole visa application process is the student’s own responsibility. Assistance may be provided by recruitment agencies cooperating with the MUG – direct contact with the agency is recommended.

After arriving in Poland – help with residence and visa matters is provided by the university representative at the Welcome Point

  16. If you are an EU citizen, you can enter Poland on the basis of your ID document (or other valid document certifying identity and citizenship). For stays exceeding 3 months there is the obligation to Registering the Residence in Pomeranian Voivodship Office in Gdańsk: (free of charge)

  18. All our preparations and organizational plans for the Autumn semester are ultimately dependent on governmental policy pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic. In case of, hopefully unlikely, event that Polish government will introduce additional restrictions (i.e. suspend international cross-border traffic, suspend/limit functioning of public institutions, universities, etc.), We will inform you immediately of any changes should they occur.

  19. Due to the ever-changing global epidemiological situation, we cannot predict what the future brings, it is still possible that some changes might happen regarding teaching and learning during the winter semester. Should potential restrictions due to COVID-19 arise in the academic year 2020/21 semester or should current strict measures continue, students will be able to register and study online.

Our remote teaching by the means of contemporary technologies has been developed and successfully tested during the last semester and it is constantly improving. We can assure you that, in case of necessity, your students will be able to continue high-quality on-line education as well as valuable virtual engagement and academic and social interactions with the rest of the MUG academic community.

We remain grateful for your continuous support and cooperation. We are convinced that through our strong partnerships, long-years’ cooperation and mutual understanding, we will overcome all the challenges arising from current worldwide epidemiological situation. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the MUG Office of Internationalization (https://intrel-en.gumed.edu.pl/113.html).
